What This Module Covers
Game Goals
Every goalie needs a clear job when the game starts.
In this lesson, we break down the three goals every goalie should carry into the crease:
Stop the next shot.
Give your team a chance to win.
Become a symbol.
Not perfect. Not flashy. Not chasing shutouts. Just the job.
Goaltender Progression
This is the operating system for the position:
Read. Position. React. Recover.
Most goalies want to start with the save. Wrong order.
Good goalies read the play, get positioned, react with patience, and recover for what comes next.
This progression will show up everywhere in the Academy.
Playing Percentages
Goaltending is not guessing.
In this lesson, you will learn how to stack the odds in your favor by taking away easy goals, sealing the ice, challenging with purpose, and forcing shooters to beat you around you instead of through you.
Make the shooter earn it. That is the point.
Why This Module Matters
This module gives you the foundation.
The rest of the Academy will build the skills: stance, skating, save selection, positioning, tracking, recovery, puck handling, mental game, and more.
But those skills work better when you understand why you are using them.
A goalie with no philosophy just reacts.
A goalie with a system solves problems.
That is what we are building here.
