Play the Puck – Goalie Skill Clinic
Become the 3rd Defenseman: Play the Puck Clinic
Goalies can do more than stop shots. In this clinic, goalies will learn how to use their stick, handle pucks with confidence, and help their team break out of the defensive zone.
This clinic connects directly to Goalie Assistant Academy’s “3rd Defenseman” module and helps goalies apply those concepts on the ice.
We will focus on the real puck-playing skills goalies need in games: popping into a puck-playing stance, sliding the blocker hand to the top of the stick, forehand and backhand passing, stopping rimmed pucks, handling long dump-ins, getting around the puck, making simple outlet passes, and recovering quickly back to the net.
The goal is not to turn goalies into risky stickhandling heroes. The goal is to help them become calm, confident, useful puck handlers who can support their defensemen, reduce pressure, and make smarter plays with the puck.

Who This Clinic Is For

This is not designed for brand-new beginner goalies. Goalies should be comfortable moving in goalie gear, getting on and off the ice, and handling basic goalie movements.
